This bed is very well constructed and absolutely beautiful. I was very skeptical and feverous about it being too low, it was not! I did use bunkieboards for extra support with the mattress. The only thing I was not happy with was the color. I choose brown which is the darker color. However, what I received was an oil walnut which is lighter than the brown but darker than the caramelized. I decided to keep what I received and customer service was great. The bed looks exactly how I thought it would look and I love the look. The feel of the wood is a bit rougher than expected but definitely solid wood, which I wanted. There was some damage on the frame from the installers or already there before it was put together.
