This bed is very well constructed and absolutely beautiful. I was very skeptical and feverous about it being too low, it was not! I did use bunkieboards for extra support with the mattress. The only thing I was not happy with was the color. I choose brown which is the darker color. However, what I received was an oil walnut which is lighter than the brown but darker than the caramelized. I decided to keep what I received and customer service was great. Beautiful and very solid bed, but disappointing quality considering the price. The first bed came with what I assume was a manufacturing defect - the groove in the headboard was too shallow for the side plank to sit in. AllModern promptly sent me a replacement which was much worse than the first bed. The headboard had several blemishes, and the alternating pattern of the headboard (which is not noticeable at all in the product photos) was even more pronounced than the first bed. The bed looks exactly how I thought it would look and I love the look. The feel of the wood is a bit rougher than expected but definitely solid wood, which I wanted. There was some damage on the frame from the installers or already there before it was put together.
