We love this lamp. It was immediately apparent that it was of a much higher quality than similar, cheaper lamps, and very much worth the price. Attaching the post to the base was a challenge. The included wrench was nice, but awkward given the limited angle afforded by the base. I had a very hard time getting the post tight and perpendicular to the base. Love this light fixture! As stated in previous reviews, the lampshade does appear to be white and brighter in these photos, but it is more oatmeal and has off-white flecks in the linen lampshade material. But knowing that, I was interested, and it did not disappoint. One thing to note: the seam on the lampshade is pretty noticeable when the light is on, so if you don't have a wall that "hides" the seam, it could be distracting and annoying to some. ***Updated: The outer glass globe broke and we are unable to get a replacement. I cannot find the globe dimensions in the product description to buy a replacement. Unfortunately, All Modern customer service, offered no assistance. So this is the updated photo of how the lamp currently looks... :( Beautiful lamp that completes our mid-century look! It has a premium brushed finished, easy to assemble, heavy stone base. The best feature is the dimmable switch easily reachable from the couch or a chair. My only complaint is that the cord is black instead of clear. The cord is of higher quality than most electric cords, though (wrapped in a fabricy material). Overall, we love the look of this lamp and the dimmable settings make it perfect for evening lounging or cranked up to max if you need to do a project in the living room. Worth every dollar!. Joshua.
