Great little table. Saw the reviews about it scratching easily so I am going to try applying a matte coat of polyurethane to see if that helps. I missed the part about removing the screws that they placed for shipping that lock the leaves into place. Look for the red arrows (two of the arrows fell off). When sliding the leaves in and out there are two wooden blocks/tabs that turn to allow the leaf to move. I noticed that you have adjust them a bit as you slide the leaves back in but all in all really like the table. It is quite heavy. For those that say it wobbles. Impressed with the quality and love the look. Pleasantly surprised to discover that it is stable. Note that the table is 70 inches long and not 75. There may be some discrepancy on the website or manufacturer claims. Initially I would have preferred 75, because there is room but 70 inches works much better for conversation with 4 guests. This table ended up being ok once we fixed the problems ourselves but it was a real pain. The leaf was installed completely wrong with one of the poles sticking out of the socket so it was crooked and stuck when you tried to open it. One end of the other pole for the leaf up top was installed into the wrong hole as well so once it was able to open, couldn’t open up all the way. Tl;dr: A solid table with the thinnest top veneer you can imagine. We bought this table for our new apartment. I had never bought a brand new dining room table. It looked so good in our newly renovated apartment, but I am disappointed in how poorly the table top has held up. In just four months of use, the veneer is cracking and bubbling. I have no idea why this is happening. It seems like a dining room table should be able to stand up to normal things you put on a table, like hot plates of food, dishes, glasses...normal things. The surface is so delicate that I'm afraid to put anything slightly hard on it for fear it will scratch more. I really don't think this should be happening so quickly, and especially considering that we paid upwards of $1300 for it. I'm looking into glass or some other protective cover (that I should't have to buy). Looks nice as a show piece. Not so great as a practical table you can actually use. Easy to put together. You get what you pay for--price was right, quality so so. One if the dowel holes was completely offline, so we left it out...dont think it compromised the structure much.
