We searched online and in stores for a long time before landing on the Dakota bookcase, and I'm glad we took our time. We bought two. They're well-built and higher quality than I expected. The wood grain is unusual, but harmonious and not distracting. The legs give them a kind of finished appearance that's perfect in our 1960's apartment. They come assembled - you only have to add the feet - and with the "white glove" service, the guys delivered, set them up and took away all the packing in a jiffy. The only thing I would add is a leveling knob at the bottom of the legs. Our 1960s apartment doesn't have very level floors and it took some futzing with pads to get them even.. Anonymous. I love this bookcase! I am not using it as a bookcase as you can see in the photo. The wood is beautiful and very sturdy and heavy. The hardware shown in the picture is very sturdy as well…doesn’t feel like it’s going to snap easily or fall apart like other hardware.I like the fact that this piece is multi functional.
