Ericka Wolf is an encaustic and oil artist working in Seattle, Washington. Combined with her study of color in the landscape of the natural world, Ericka tries to capture an expression that's transient and intentionally uncomplicated. Something reductive but reflective, using color as a luminous expression rather than illustration. In Ericka's current work, she's creating skies with a serenity that she has seen and felt before, and that she tries to imagine during bleak winter months in Seattle. When the state of the world itself seems bleak, she finds a quiet slowness by contemplating the sky and the broad juxtaposing of color that can exist in myriad ways. It's a calming opposite to our overstimulated culture: chaotic events and unending social media. For Ericka, the sky seems like the perfect metaphor for life-expansiveness, even though at the times dark or dangerous, ultimately beautiful in all of its vibrancy and impermanence.

A relaxed yet elegant moment from 1959, this photograph, "Pussyfooting", portrays actress Dee Hartford, wife of film producer Howard Hawks, savoring a Pussyfoot—a vibrant blend of Jamaican fruit juices—her poised silhouette framed by the shimmering sea and lush island backdrop. The scene captures the heart of 1950s jet-set glamour, weaving relaxed sophistication with exotic allure, evoking a timeless romance that continues to enchant lovers of coastal charm and refined indulgence. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. The photograph is presented as a high-resolution scan of the photo's original photographic slide, complete with hand-lettered archival notations along the mount. Offered exclusively by Soicher Marin, this edition preserves the full character of the original format, transforming it into a striking piece of wall art that merges history, authenticity, and timeless style. More than a photograph, it is a curated artifact of American cultural glamour, bringing a refined yet playful sophistication to any well-appointed interior. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.

This luminous 1961 photograph, "Between Sea and Sky", transports us to Acapulco’s iconic coastline, where Ingrid Morath reclines effortlessly at the edge of a shimmering pool, her silhouette poised against the vast Pacific horizon. A native of Rio de Janeiro and resident of Mexico City, Morath embodies the international glamour that defined the jet-set era, where beauty, leisure, and exotic locales converged in scenes of understated luxury. Acapulco at this time was a favored escape for global elites, its cliffside villas and pristine waters offering a cinematic backdrop for sun-drenched indulgence. The tranquil geometry of water, sky, and human form in this image captures the essence of Aarons’ enduring celebration of aspirational leisure. These look beautiful. Theyre just like whats in the pictures. They are a little higher priced and they arent painted or textured however they look definitely worth what I paid and I wouldnt think twice about buying them again. Highly recommend if you need a set of three modern pieces of art in terra cotta. Michael. Raleigh, NC. Fri Apr 10 2026
