From 1969, this evocative photograph captures a sun-drenched moment at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on the French Riviera, where sleek wooden speedboats line the pier in quiet anticipation. Set against the serene expanse of the Mediterranean Sea, the scene embodies the effortless glamour and leisurely sophistication that defined the Riviera lifestyle during this golden era. Waterskiers carve through the calm waters, weaving a narrative of freedom and exhilaration amid one of Europe’s most iconic luxury destinations. The image reflects a time when the hotel was a magnet for the world’s elite, blending natural beauty with a vibrant social culture. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. The photograph is presented as a high-resolution scan of the photo's original photographic slide, complete with hand-lettered archival notations along the mount. Offered exclusively by Soicher Marin, this edition preserves the full character of the original format, transforming it into a striking piece of wall art that merges history, authenticity, and timeless style. More than a photograph, it is a curated artifact of American cultural glamour, bringing a refined yet playful sophistication to any well-appointed interior. Set against the majestic peaks of the Swiss Alps, this 1964 photograph, "Lounging in Verbier", captures a vibrant winter scene in Verbier, Switzerland, a rising star in the world of alpine sports during the mid-twentieth century. Nestled in the canton of Valais, Verbier was beginning to attract a spirited, adventurous crowd drawn to its expansive slopes and youthful energy. The sunlit gathering of skiers and loungers, framed by towering mountains, reflects a moment when the post-war generation embraced the mountains not just for sport, but for community and escape. In this image, Verbier stands on the cusp of becoming an icon, where snow and sun combined to create a distinctly modern alpine lifestyle. This 1970 photograph, "Poolside Gossip", showcases a quintessential Palm Springs moment at a desert house designed by famed architect Richard Neutra for Edgar J. Kaufmann, a key patron of modernist architecture. Helen Dzo Dzo and Nelda Linsk relax poolside while Lita Baron approaches in the background. The residence exemplifies mid-century modern design principles with its seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces, clean lines, and use of natural materials. Palm Springs during this era was a hub for Hollywood elites and creatives seeking a stylish retreat in the desert, combining modern luxury with relaxed leisure. The image captures the era’s distinct blend of architectural innovation and glamorous lifestyle, emblematic of the post-war American fascination with sophisticated, sun-soaked living. This iconic 1969 photograph, "Leisure in Antibes", captures a sun-drenched moment off the coast of Antibes near the legendary Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on the French Riviera. A woman lounges gracefully on the deck of a sleek motorboat, soaking in the warm August sun as the vessel tows a waterskier through the sparkling Mediterranean waters. Beyond its serene surface, the image embodies the Riviera’s postwar allure as a playground for the international elite, where modernist architecture, glamorous leisure, and natural beauty converged. The hotel, famed for hosting celebrities, artists, and aristocrats, stood at the heart of a cultural renaissance that celebrated relaxation, recreation, and personal freedom in the late 1960s. Captured in 1967, this vibrant photograph, "Sea Drive", shows film producer Kevin McClory enjoying a unique ride with his wife Bobo Sigrist and their family in an Amphicar, gliding smoothly across the turquoise waters of Nassau Harbour in the Bahamas. The playful amphibious vehicle, equally at home on land and sea, adds a whimsical touch to a scene defined by warmth, family, and tropical ease. Ericka Wolf is an encaustic and oil artist working in Seattle, Washington. Combined with her study of color in the landscape of the natural world, Ericka tries to capture an expression that's transient and intentionally uncomplicated. Something reductive but reflective, using color as a luminous expression rather than illustration. In Ericka's current work, she's creating skies with a serenity that she has seen and felt before, and that she tries to imagine during bleak winter months in Seattle. When the state of the world itself seems bleak, she finds a quiet slowness by contemplating the sky and the broad juxtaposing of color that can exist in myriad ways. It's a calming opposite to our overstimulated culture: chaotic events and unending social media. For Ericka, the sky seems like the perfect metaphor for life-expansiveness, even though at the times dark or dangerous, ultimately beautiful in all of its vibrancy and impermanence.

"Snowmass Picnic," captured by Slim Aarons in January 1967 amid the pristine slopes of Snowmass-at-Aspen, Colorado, evokes the joyous camaraderie of alpine high society. This enchanting photograph portrays a stand-up fondue picnic for skiers, with hot food elegantly helicoptered in by Holiday magazine, where notable guests like Howard Head of the Head Ski Company, IBM president Thomas Watson Jr. and his wife Olive, Norwegian Olympic skier Stein Eriksen, and restaurateur Armando Orsini gather in the fresh snowfields, their laughter and stylish winter attire harmonizing with the vast trails of the newly opened village. The scene captures the heart of 1960s winter leisure, weaving adventurous spirit with refined indulgence, evoking a timeless romance that continues to enchant lovers of snowy escapades and sophisticated gatherings. Slim Aarons (1916–2006), born George Allen Aarons, rose from humble origins and World War II combat photography to become a celebrated chronicler of the elite, vowing post-war to photograph only "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," with his works gracing magazines like Town & Country and now preserved in the Getty Images archive. This exquisite reproduction from Soicher Marin is printed on premium luster photo paper using state-of-the-art techniques, ensuring vibrant colors, sharp details, and enduring quality that brings a touch of mid-century sophistication to any space.
