This iconic 1969 photograph, "Leisure in Antibes", captures a sun-drenched moment off the coast of Antibes near the legendary Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on the French Riviera. A woman lounges gracefully on the deck of a sleek motorboat, soaking in the warm August sun as the vessel tows a waterskier through the sparkling Mediterranean waters. Beyond its serene surface, the image embodies the Riviera’s postwar allure as a playground for the international elite, where modernist architecture, glamorous leisure, and natural beauty converged. The hotel, famed for hosting celebrities, artists, and aristocrats, stood at the heart of a cultural renaissance that celebrated relaxation, recreation, and personal freedom in the late 1960s. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. The photograph is presented as a high-resolution scan of the photo's original photographic slide, complete with hand-lettered archival notations along the mount. Offered exclusively by Soicher Marin, this edition preserves the full character of the original format, transforming it into a striking piece of wall art that merges history, authenticity, and timeless style. More than a photograph, it is a curated artifact of American cultural glamour, bringing a refined yet playful sophistication to any well-appointed interior. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.

This 1970 photograph, "Poolside Gossip", showcases a quintessential Palm Springs moment at a desert house designed by famed architect Richard Neutra for Edgar J. Kaufmann, a key patron of modernist architecture. Helen Dzo Dzo and Nelda Linsk relax poolside while Lita Baron approaches in the background. We ordered this with a mat thinking an unmatted picture would have no border. When we chose a mat the image on the website didn’t change and the description did not indicate that the mat was 3” wide which is what we received. That means the mat was 51 of the full area of the 20”x20” framed art. The image on the website should show the difference between a matted and unmatted picture. Very disappointing.. Anonymous.
