From 1969, this evocative photograph captures a sun-drenched moment at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on the French Riviera, where sleek wooden speedboats line the pier in quiet anticipation. Set against the serene expanse of the Mediterranean Sea, the scene embodies the effortless glamour and leisurely sophistication that defined the Riviera lifestyle during this golden era. Waterskiers carve through the calm waters, weaving a narrative of freedom and exhilaration amid one of Europe’s most iconic luxury destinations. The image reflects a time when the hotel was a magnet for the world’s elite, blending natural beauty with a vibrant social culture. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. The photograph is presented as a high-resolution scan of the photo's original photographic slide, complete with hand-lettered archival notations along the mount. Offered exclusively by Soicher Marin, this edition preserves the full character of the original format, transforming it into a striking piece of wall art that merges history, authenticity, and timeless style. More than a photograph, it is a curated artifact of American cultural glamour, bringing a refined yet playful sophistication to any well-appointed interior. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.

Set against the majestic peaks of the Swiss Alps, this 1964 photograph, "Lounging in Verbier", captures a vibrant winter scene in Verbier, Switzerland, a rising star in the world of alpine sports during the mid-twentieth century. Nestled in the canton of Valais, Verbier was beginning to attract a spirited, adventurous crowd drawn to its expansive slopes and youthful energy. The sunlit gathering of skiers and loungers, framed by towering mountains, reflects a moment when the post-war generation embraced the mountains not just for sport, but for community and escape. In this image, Verbier stands on the cusp of becoming an icon, where snow and sun combined to create a distinctly modern alpine lifestyle. Bring the serenity of the coast into your home with this captivating photographic print. " Dreamy Cinque Terre" features a breathtaking landscape with an open frame, gallery- wrapped canvas. The artist's masterful use of color photography transports you to a tranquil escape.

We ordered this with a mat thinking an unmatted picture would have no border. When we chose a mat the image on the website didn’t change and the description did not indicate that the mat was 3” wide which is what we received. That means the mat was 51 of the full area of the 20”x20” framed art. The image on the website should show the difference between a matted and unmatted picture. Very disappointing.. Anonymous. Fall Plant. This botanical print brings lush, thriving greenery to your walls, no matter how things work out with your real houseplants. A reproduction of a digital illustration, it’s printed on paper in the USA and arrives in a wooden frame with included hanging hardware.

Really pretty. I was surprised that The frame is plastic, not glass. The back is made of paper and the paper arrived torn, but I don’t really think that matters since no one sees the back anyway. It really is beautiful. I’m not sure how I feel about the red in the upper left hand corner though. At first I thought it was a defect, but it shows that same spot online Sonora not.. Kim. A poignant testament to companionship, the Felicia 1 framed print evokes a portrayal of man and dog roaming freely along Ireland’s misty shores. The print's earthy tones complement the solid wood frame and textured matte border. This piece is a daily reminder of life's quiet, defining moments and the faithful companions who share them.

Ericka Wolf is an encaustic and oil artist working in Seattle, Washington. Combined with her study of color in the landscape of the natural world, Ericka tries to capture an expression that's transient and intentionally uncomplicated. Something reductive but reflective, using color as a luminous expression rather than illustration. In Ericka's current work, she's creating skies with a serenity that she has seen and felt before, and that she tries to imagine during bleak winter months in Seattle. When the state of the world itself seems bleak, she finds a quiet slowness by contemplating the sky and the broad juxtaposing of color that can exist in myriad ways. It's a calming opposite to our overstimulated culture: chaotic events and unending social media. For Ericka, the sky seems like the perfect metaphor for life-expansiveness, even though at the times dark or dangerous, ultimately beautiful in all of its vibrancy and impermanence.

This is gorgeous and has a very calming effect.. Jennifer. New London, NC. Mon Oct 09 2023
