An inventive translation of piping detailing on traditional upholstery, the tonal woven soft rush front adds texture while complementing the solid mango wood construction of the Omena collection. More commonly recognized as Tatami-omote, this tightly woven multilayered natural rice straw is a centuries-old natural material known for its durability and temperature absorption originating in Japan.
I had my eye on this dresser for a long time, and when the price was right I jumped on the opportunity. Wayfair was helpful and accommodating Now, about the dresser itself. The drawers "pop" open with a spring system--that is, you push the drawer in and it pops out. This would be fine if the drawers worked exceptionally well. I will say the performance improved the more I used them, however I found I needed to press them with two hands and in just the right spot. This is not what I was looking for in a dresser. The waterfall lines of the chest were an attractive feature, kind of a 70's flair. But I'm not sold on the quality. The fit and finish is not what I'd expect from an heirloom piece. I don't know how this dresser will age. I would never pay full price for this dresser now that I've seen it. I'd instead order an Amish piece of furniture for about the same price. It is an imported piece for certain, from the Moe's Home Collection and it has been white labeled by Wayfair. Do your research. It's a nice dresser but not heirloom quality.. Timothy. Milwaukee, WI. This is a really beautiful piece, truly a designer style and overall good quality. I love that there's a lip at the edge of the top around the entire perimeter so items cannot roll or be easily knocked off the dresser. I am using this as a baby changing table/dresser and it's perfect because the drawers are not too large, so if you're looking for big roomy drawers for storing jeans or sweatpants, these are not them. The top and bottom drawers are pull to open, but the center drawers rely on a push to open and push to shut mechanism that allows the drawers to sit flush and makes the design of the piece really sleek. However, the first piece arrived with a faulty mechanism on one of these drawers and the company offered me several options including replacement of the entire piece, which was expeditious.
