It has no weird smell. Yes it’s shedding but it’s supposed to for one year it’s wool and well made. The price point was unbeatable. This size rug usually sells for a lot more. I am a particular fan of this brand. I have quite a few of their other rugs, so I knew that I was going to get quality. Very pleased don’t be discouraged because it sheds it only sheds when you’re sweeping. Do be aware if you have kids and you want to get down on the floor with them it is wool. It’s not soft, fluffy.. Oval 6' x 9'

The rug is unique and soft, the edges are a bit shiny and the center is more of warm cream color, give it interesting contrast. It's also pretty soft, not incredibly thick, but enough that I'd be able to sit on the rug comfortably. So many rugs now are very thin, and we wanted something that both felt nice to walk on but was thick enough to sit on as well. The one thing to look out for is that the size is not truly 5' x 8', my guess is due to the oval shape the sizing they gave was just an approximation off a standard rectangular rug.
