I echo a lot of the other reviews: A nice, dense pile and the color can look olive or brown under different lighting. The streaks in the olive parts are a little more pronounced than expected but it doesn't detract from the overall look. It must have been stored in a warehouse that was positively filled to the brim with cigarette smoke with a healthy dose of diesel exhaust. It'll take some washing and airing out to get rid of it, and even then I don't know how long it'll take. It's stunk up the whole room and into the hallway. I probably would have changed my mind and put it outside on the line to get a better chance of airing out, except I worked my tail off to get it under my very heavy bed frame with an unwieldy mattress, so it's there until I move or die.
