The lamp is OK, but the build quality is poor. The metal frame for the shade doesn’t attach securely and stays crooked. I had to use tape to keep it straight. The dimmer is placed about a foot from the lamp, so if you mount it on the wall, you end up with a big black box hanging below it. It looks bad. I expected more. This is a Wayfair product, not AllModern. AllModern is just Wayfair with different branding to seem more premium. Shipping was rough. The styrofoam shattered into tiny pieces and got everywhere. Spanish alabaster from the quarry of Aragon has long been considered an ideal substance for sculpture. Used in religious statuary and by prosperous families of Renaissance Spain, the material is richly veined and pleasantly porous. Due to the amount of light it lets through, it was often used for windows. In this fixture, mount a slab of Spanish alabaster with thin metal clasps over an led lamp. As the light pours through it, it creates a beautiful effect.
