Fan looks good and is very quiet which is nice but I'm a little concerned... We had electricians install it & they said there's no way to control the light/fan with a switch. You can install a switch, which we did, but it only remembers the last setting you had it on with the remote so it gets all out of sync, and we've been walking into a dark room until we can find the remote. We will probably install the remote holder by the light switch too. The electricians also said that when the fan motor dies, or when the light dies, there's no way to replace those parts, so we will need a whole new fixture. Renovating two guest bedrooms, both are 12x12'. This 44" fan feels like the right size for a 144 sq ft room. I ran the new Romex wire to a switched receptacle by the entry door. I like the remote with cradle which I attached to the wall next to the switch. So upon entry flipping the switch turns on the fan/light as well as a bedside lamp plugged into the half-hot receptacle. The fan light is not real bright but adequate for a bedroom and dimmable. For looks I give 5 stars, my wife gives it 4. Fan is not whisper quiet and install was a bit more difficult than other ceiling fans I have hung. I found the "safety cable" to be useless - unless I put a screw into my freshly painted ceiling to attach it (?) plus it was in the way so I used tin snips & got rid of it. Anyway the drawbacks didn't prevent me from buying a second one so the two rooms match, and I'm sure that second install will go more smoothly & quicker.. Daniel A.. PHOENIX, AZ. 2022-09-15 12:32:26

Its a very nice fan. A little noisy when its on high but I suppose its due to the the metal cutting through the air. The con is that Minka-Aire is not a straight forward universal ceiling fan with light type of product. It is difficult to find the coordinating pieces. Not all lighting kits work and not all Minka-Aire lighting kits work. Not all remote controls or wall mounted controls work nor Minka-Aire products. Has to be specific to the fan. It turned out to be quite a chore, not to mention expense, to get it just right. I like the fan, just not the trouble. I think this will be my last Minka-Aire purchase. . alfredo.
