The light is generally as expected. It required a bit more assembly then anticipated as there were 4 sections of the lower pole to screw together. The only criticism that I have is that the light source is not set back into the head ... so the LED light "bulb" is very obviously seen, so it is a bit distracting within the room.. Kenneth. I really looked forward to this lamp. It's not bad overall. Heavy & sturdy base, assembling is easy. It actually comes with the tool you need, we just didn't see it at the beginning as it's packed separately. The lamp comes with two types of light bulbs. The pretty one (as on the website pic) is really dim. Wanted to use it in the living room but I think it will not be bright enough (even with the brighter lightbulb). Also it's a bit short. It's kinda my fault that I just took the website pic as a reference, didn't really pay attention to how tall it is. So again, will probably just use it in the bedroom. The one thing that really bothers me is that there is a really obvious scratch mark on the glass shade. It's annoying as it's at the center front. My OCD is kinda killing me... but we are too tired to repack everything back for a return. I placed this lamp next to a sofa table I use for eating and computer work. I only wish it were just a few inches shorter, as the LEDs will be visible for shorter people.
