This lamp, like many in the "boxed to ship" category is assembled from many small peices that screw together. The manufacturing was not perfectly precise and when screwed together the lamp was crooked unfortunately. Love the retro modern design, but it warrants a single upright tube so that it can be straight and durable.

I am very happy with this lamp. It was very easy to assemble. And, it gives "midnight library" energy, which is the ambiance I was going for. However, just a heads up, you will definitely need other lamps / light sources for your room as it is not the brightest light source (probably due to the black shade).
