Vander Serving Spoon

Small spoons do more work than their size suggests, and this one is built for the jobs a dinner spoon bungles. Teak keeps it light in the hand, with grain that shifts across every piece. Use it for olives, capers, or a spoonful of something from a jar, then set it back beside the bowl.

Coffee tastes better when the spoon is pleasant to hold, and teak manages that better than metal ever does in a hot cup. Its long handle reaches the bottom of a tall latte glass, and the wood stays cool while you stir. Keep a couple in a jar by the kettle where they are always within reach.

Grain runs the length of these teak servers, which is what makes a simple shape worth looking at. Smooth edges stay gentle on a bowl, leaving the surface unmarked however enthusiastically the salad gets tossed. Spoon and fork together, light enough to use one-handed and good enough to leave out on the table.

Slim and flat, this little spoon ends up in daily use almost by accident. Teak gives it a soft warmth that metal rarely manages, and the grain makes each one slightly its own. Use it for salt, spices, jam or honey, then leave it tucked in the jar it belongs to.
