I ordered a sideboard from Allmodern. First delivery the item was damaged and I did not accept delivery. The wood was cracked and peeling away on the bottom of the unit in a very visible area. There was alot of back and forth about whether another unit was available. I finally received a replacement. It too was damaged with some small gouges in the wood of the doors and around the edges. The wood was chipped along the bottom edge above the leg. There were a few red streaks like sharpie marker on the side of the unit. One door was not attached but the delivery men were able to fix it. There was a lot of rearranging of existing furniture to make room for the new piece which had to be put back while waiting for the replacement. Didn’t want to go through it a third time so I accepted the second piece at a 20% discount. Still had to pay over $1400 for damaged goods. I guess it’s not realistic to think that a new piece of furniture should arrive in good condition. I do like the piece of furniture but would expect undamaged goods and much less hassle. The delivery men were very professional and helpful.. Colette. Carlisle, PA. Tue Jun 23 2026

This bookcase brings a classic silhouette with updated construction to your main bedroom or living room. It's crafted with a solid and engineered wood frame, and it rests on black-finished iron legs with gold foot caps for a mid-century modern look. The acacia wood surface features a patchwork of woodgrains for added depth across the five shelf tiers. This vertical design creates plenty of space to show off your favorite plants and books while maintaining a clean-lined profile. Plus, it includes a tip-over restraint device for added stability within your home.

We searched online and in stores for a long time before landing on the Dakota bookcase, and I'm glad we took our time. We bought two. They're well-built and higher quality than I expected. The wood grain is unusual, but harmonious and not distracting. The legs give them a kind of finished appearance that's perfect in our 1960's apartment. They come assembled - you only have to add the feet - and with the "white glove" service, the guys delivered, set them up and took away all the packing in a jiffy. The only thing I would add is a leveling knob at the bottom of the legs. Our 1960s apartment doesn't have very level floors and it took some futzing with pads to get them even.. Anonymous. This console is a beautiful oak that complements browns, beige and grey colors in your room. The brass knobs make it mid century and the angle of legs gives a modern vibe. The soft close cabinet doors worked beautifully.
