I recently discovered AllModern had a physical store near me. One of the items I was in love with online was the Leander console. It just oozes classy MCM vibes. The store actually did not have it on display the day I went, but seeing the quality, I felt confident in ordering the Leander. It was delivered a few days later and I couldn’t be more pleased. It is elegant and beautiful, but also solidly built. The drawers open smoothly, the doors align perfectly and there is nary a flaw. Everything I purchased from AllModern seems to have come triple wrapped, and it surprised me that a company would take that much care in the shipping of their products. I ordered a sideboard from Allmodern. First delivery the item was damaged and I did not accept delivery. The wood was cracked and peeling away on the bottom of the unit in a very visible area. There was alot of back and forth about whether another unit was available. I finally received a replacement. It too was damaged with some small gouges in the wood of the doors and around the edges. The wood was chipped along the bottom edge above the leg. There were a few red streaks like sharpie marker on the side of the unit. One door was not attached but the delivery men were able to fix it. There was a lot of rearranging of existing furniture to make room for the new piece which had to be put back while waiting for the replacement. Didn’t want to go through it a third time so I accepted the second piece at a 20% discount. Still had to pay over $1400 for damaged goods. I guess it’s not realistic to think that a new piece of furniture should arrive in good condition. I do like the piece of furniture but would expect undamaged goods and much less hassle.
