Whole thing has a very solid feel, all metal, and the shade is actually attached unlike some similar lamps I’ve seen where it just balances. My one nitpick is that the bracket that attaches the shade seems to have been made backwards and so doesn’t sit totally flush with the base, making the shade ever so slightly tilted.. John.
