Had several issues out of the box. The frame at the bottom was coming apart, and in the process pulling the doors out of alignment. There was a broken chip near one of the door hingers. Since it would be a hassle trying to return it, and I plan on using it as a printer stand, I've patched it up myself and added some screws to hold the bottom together. I bought the oak table from Wayfair a few months ago. I ordered a walnut sideboard, which seemed to match the table in the pictures from Wayfair, but it did not. I couldn’t return it because it had been assembled but I have another place. It can go. This new sideboard is oak and it matches perfectly. I ordered a sideboard from Allmodern. First delivery the item was damaged and I did not accept delivery. The wood was cracked and peeling away on the bottom of the unit in a very visible area. There was alot of back and forth about whether another unit was available. I finally received a replacement. It too was damaged with some small gouges in the wood of the doors and around the edges. The wood was chipped along the bottom edge above the leg. There were a few red streaks like sharpie marker on the side of the unit. One door was not attached but the delivery men were able to fix it. There was a lot of rearranging of existing furniture to make room for the new piece which had to be put back while waiting for the replacement. Didn’t want to go through it a third time so I accepted the second piece at a 20% discount. Still had to pay over $1400 for damaged goods. I guess it’s not realistic to think that a new piece of furniture should arrive in good condition. I do like the piece of furniture but would expect undamaged goods and much less hassle. Extremely well constructed a well thought out media center! Internal cabinets can hold two stacks of audio gear with plenty of space for adequate ventilation. We searched online and in stores for a long time before landing on the Dakota bookcase, and I'm glad we took our time. We bought two. They're well-built and higher quality than I expected. The wood grain is unusual, but harmonious and not distracting. The legs give them a kind of finished appearance that's perfect in our 1960's apartment. They come assembled - you only have to add the feet - and with the "white glove" service, the guys delivered, set them up and took away all the packing in a jiffy. The only thing I would add is a leveling knob at the bottom of the legs. Our 1960s apartment doesn't have very level floors and it took some futzing with pads to get them even.. Anonymous.
