We searched online and in stores for a long time before landing on the Dakota bookcase, and I'm glad we took our time. We bought two. They're well-built and higher quality than I expected. The wood grain is unusual, but harmonious and not distracting. The legs give them a kind of finished appearance that's perfect in our 1960's apartment. They come assembled - you only have to add the feet - and with the "white glove" service, the guys delivered, set them up and took away all the packing in a jiffy. The only thing I would add is a leveling knob at the bottom of the legs. Our 1960s apartment doesn't have very level floors and it took some futzing with pads to get them even.. Anonymous. I recently discovered AllModern had a physical store near me. One of the items I was in love with online was the Leander console. It just oozes classy MCM vibes. The store actually did not have it on display the day I went, but seeing the quality, I felt confident in ordering the Leander. It was delivered a few days later and I couldn’t be more pleased. It is elegant and beautiful, but also solidly built. The drawers open smoothly, the doors align perfectly and there is nary a flaw. Everything I purchased from AllModern seems to have come triple wrapped, and it surprised me that a company would take that much care in the shipping of their products. Very high quality furniture made of solid wood. The finish is a black/dark brown stain and is perfect. The carved details on the doors and side panels have a nice texture and detail. Pleasantly surprised at how much storage it provides and the round closable openings in the rear are a nice touch for electronics that will need various cables and connectors to pass through.
