Conventional salt & pepper mills often create mess by leaving excess grounds on surfaces when placed down. The simple, elegant design of the Milltop avoids this problem as the grinding mechanism is at the top of the mill, which means any excess grounds fall back inside the unit after use. The innovative design also does away with a long central spindle for the grinding mechanism, which increases its capacity and makes it much easier to fill. Cool looking, functionally lacking. Holes for salt and pepper rather large so contents really flow out, especially when trying to fill from from the small filler holes on the bottom. The ceramic mill on the pepper mill is placed on top to avoid pepper spilling onto the tablecloth. The mill can be set to grind finely or coarsely. It works on the same principle as a pestle pounding the taste out of the pepper. The unique, ceramic grinder mechanism is from Crush Grind, which is known for its high quality and for the degree of grinding which can be easily adjusted, so you get the spices just the way you want them.
