The bed is definitely darker than pictures as someone else had mentioned, but it’s beautiful! Feels like a sturdy long-lasting piece of furniture! There is a gap between the mattress and edge of the bed (all around) maybe a couple inches. But once the blankets were all on and tucked into the sides it wasn’t really noticeable, except towards the headboard where the blanket isn’t tucked in. But it doesn’t really bother me as much as it did in the beginning! My husband basically built it himself and it only took about an hour at most! This bed is beautiful! The quality of the wood is beyond SPECTACULAR! Perfect for our mid-century modern Scandinavian farmhouse vibe. I'd say that the color is slightly different (a bit more dark brown). Delivery was also AMAZING. They even called to say they were a half hour away. My only complaint would be that the nuts and bolts look EXTREMELY similar - a hair of a difference on the washers & screws. I love this bed frame, it looks so much better in person than in pics. One thing I will note is that it is big. I got a queen and it’s huge. Excellent quality- I put it together myself and it went fine. The hardest part was lifting the extremely heavy boxes up the stairs by myself! The headboard weighs a lot but the other parts of the bed I was able to bring up individually to make it easier. Assembly took a half hour or so, bed is very sturdy and most importantly, no squeaking! I went back and forth between getting white boucle or the brown but I like the brown. There was some damage on the frame from the installers or already there before it was put together.
