There is a tradeoff between style and stability. You won't be able to sit on this table without it tipping all the way over. Obviously, there's no reason to sit on a table; just setting expectations. Otherwise it's absolutely stable enough for dining and such. The markings on the surface are obviously intentional and meant to evoke an industrial feel. There is a blotchy shine or lamination on the surface that I'm not sure if it should be scrubbed off or ignored (it's not painfully obvious). Arrived damaged, they send replacement, replacement arrived damaged again, got refunded, so nice customer service, no complains there. But even if it whould not be damaged its not a solid wood top. Its looks ok but quality is not. The top is not perfecrly smooth, you can feel the seams. Also hard to clean the spots. It is very heavy.
