The bed is very pretty but we are sad that the white stripe one sees in the pic isn’t there. It just depends on the wood and where the white ends up. Ours only has a small spot of white. The finish is beautiful and matches the teak/teak veneer of the rest of our mid-century furniture. I like the styling, and the workmanship seems quite good, with one exception, which I'll discuss last. If you are curious about the thin arms that support the head board, the head board does have a bit of flex or spring to it when you lean back against it. The queen sized frame is about 1.5-2" longer than our Sealy queen mattress, so that there is a gap either at the foot board or at the head board depending on how you position the mattress. The width seems about right. The two center support legs each have a threaded metal insert in the top end, with which each is bolted onto the center support rail. Those inserts pulled out of the legs with minimal force, and -- tellingly -- removing very little wood when they did. The holes drilled in the ends of those legs are barely smaller than the outer diameter of the threads that hold the inserts into the leg. Those holes should have been drilled much smaller. I reattached the inserts by using liquid epoxy to fill the holes, then screwing the inserts in (with a disc of tape across the bottom ends to keep epoxy from filling the hole in the insert).. We purchased the Cal King and a beautiful and solid wood piece that was easy to put together. We added a 9” box spring and have a 10” purple mattress on top; this gave a good height and I would recommend no lower then 18-20” because then you would see the non decorative slat on the headboard. The only issue, and this was in a previous review is that with the Cal King there is a few inches extra length. You don’t notice when the bed is made up but in order to keep your pillows from sliding off the bed we pushed the decorative pillows down between the mattress and headboard. I liked the piece enough to make the concession and maybe in the future we would build a 2x2 frame and add fabric to make an end piece to fit in here. If you push the mattress and box spring up to the head of the bed then you get the extra inches at the foot which is very obvious.
