A graduate of the furniture design program at Sheridan College in Toronto, Jordan is drawn to design for its potential to affect people's lives. He consistently attempts to reconsider the way we design, manufacture and use objects with the goal of encouraging more thoughtful relationships with the objects we own.Modern and innovative in design, the Clairo wall clock by Umbra uses strong color and a cleverly-design lens to add interest to a classic clock shape. The frosted acrylic lens creates a soft, diffused effect in front of the bright avocado-green clock face and contrasting white hands. On the lens, cut-out numbers stand out by revealing the saturated color behind.

Umbra Clairo Wall Clock
Quirky and funky.

It took a little getting used to because the frosted glass gives a 'blurred'hazy effect, but it grew on me. I dig the clean lines and now can't imagine my kitchen without it.

This clock is a perfect combination of style and function. The design is low-key, yet it gives a nice pop of colour. I love how it looks on the wall.

The U+ Studio Collection, which offers a range of sophisticated aesthetics from raw to sleek, can be found exclusively at contemporary design retail specialists.
Umbra began in 1979, when boyhood friends, Paul Rowan and Les Mandelbaum joined forces to create exciting, everyday products that alter the overall aesthetic of a home, beginning with a printed window shade unlike anything then in the market ("umbra" means shade in latin).
Twenty-five years later, Umbra's award-winning design team - 22 men and women from all over the world and notable outside product designers, all under Paul Rowan's direction - remains the heart and soul of the company. Its offices worldwide now house more than 450 people.
