Offi Siamese Cat Pet Lamp in Soft White

I love the lamp, and gave it to my 9 y.o. daughter for Xmas (she's a cat lover). We got the white, and when we opened it, plugged in the bulb and turned it on, we noticed first that it was filthy. It has a rough texture that holds dirt and almost looked like it had a shoe print on it! Very disappointed that someone would pack and ship something like that (and it was factory sealed). The second thing is that the light shines through the plastic body inconsistently and there is a weird halo-type circle of light on the cats head, sort of offset. My daughter doesn't care and loves it, but quality-wise, I don't think this is worth[$]. If it looked just like the pic, I'd be thrilled, but it doensn't. One thing I do like is that since it's on all the time, it doesn't get hot/seem to pose a fire hazard.
