Although he started out as a bricklayer, Arne Jacobsen quickly rose to become one of the century's most prolific Danish designers. Following his silver medal win at the 1925 Paris World Exhibition, Jacobsen went on to garner accolades all over the world. Having designed everything from large scale office buildings to a popular line of modern chairs, Jacobsen designed the Cylinda Line for Stelton in the early 1960s. He won the Danish Society of Industrial Design's ID-prize in 1967, as well as the International Design Award 1968 by The American Institute of Interior Designers.
