Livio Castiglioni Italy (1911 - )Born in Milan in 1911. Livio Castiglioni graduated in architecture from the Polytechnic of Milan in 1936. He started working with his brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo immediately after the war focusing their attention mainly on city planning, architecture and particularly on design. All the experiments and studies on design were possible thanks to the many exhibitions they designed and where Livio worked as light and sound technician.
Pietro Maria Castiglioni Italy (1944 - )Pietro Maria Castiglioni, known as Piero, born in Lierna (Lecco) in 1944. After graduating in architecture in 1970, he worked with his father Livio in Via Presolana from 1973-1979, mainly specialising in lighting design. In 1968 and 1973 he was asked to work for both 14th and 15th "Triennale di Milano". In 1972 he carried out design work with Ugo La Pietra for the exhibition entitled "Italy: the new domestic landscape" at the "Museum of Modern Art" in New York. They created several lighting designs for public or private Art Galleries, temporary exhibitions, show rooms, offices, hotels and houses both in Italy and in foreign countries. Lighting system housing halogen bulbs on a single cable or on parallel cables. The Lamp are protected by a safety shield in borosilicate glass. In the AT1F and AT1FQ versions, the cables are supplied in the measurement requested by the client or as standard equipment (7 metres with the bulb in the centre) and each cable can house a maximum of two bulbs connected in series. In the AT2F version, the parallel cables can house several bulbs up to a maximum of 2500W per line.
