The old confronts the new in Bas Warmoeskerken's remarkable Red Revisited set of dinnerware. Drawing his inspiration from medieval pottery from the Dutch town of Bergen op Zoom, Warmoeskerken brought this earthenware into the modern times by recasting it in plastic. It has also been modernized with the use of a bright red finish to replace the clay red of the originals. The imperfections of the original pottery are included.

Droog:

Droog is an innovative enterprise based in Amsterdam. Founded in 1993 by Gijs Bakker and Renny Ramakers as a statement on design, common themes have consistently run through their projects: creating innovative concepts that change perspective and connecting the product to the individual. Their products generate experience, interaction and participation; they solve problems and challenge conventional assumptions. Above all, they are meant to be cherished and not discarded without thought.

Droog collaborates with a wide variety of designers, partners, clients, manufacturers and projects. Cutting edge designers from all over the world experiment with new concepts, new materials and new techniques but also with age-old craft methods. Prolific designers such as Marcel Wanders, Tejo Remy, Jurgen Bey and others have collaborated with Droog. While the backgrounds and interests of Droog’s designers vary wildly, experimentation and innovation are always key components of Droog’s design vision.
