This 1957 photograph, "Tennis in the Bahamas", captures a moment of stylish leisure at a tennis court in the Bahamas, where affluent vacationers gathered for sport, sun, and socializing. In the postwar years, the Bahamas became a favored destination for the international elite seeking warm weather and exclusivity. The attire of the individuals—crisp tennis whites, chic summer separates, and tailored resortwear—reflects the elegance and understated glamour of the jet set era. The composition highlights not only the fashion and formality of midcentury resort life but also Aarons’s unmatched ability to document the rituals of the privileged with both intimacy and sophistication. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. After serving as a war photographer, Aarons turned his lens to a new landscape: the glamorous lives of Hollywood elites, Palm Beach socialites, and jet-setting debutantes and princes. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. The photograph is presented as a high-resolution scan of the photo's original photographic slide, complete with hand-lettered archival notations along the mount. Offered exclusively by Soicher Marin, this edition preserves the full character of the original format, transforming it into a striking piece of wall art that merges history, authenticity, and timeless style. More than a photograph, it is a curated artifact of American cultural glamour, bringing a refined yet playful sophistication to any well-appointed interior. Every piece in our unique Slim Aarons collection is meticulously handcrafted using archival materials and printed on premium, luster photographic paper with environmentally safe inks, custom framed by skilled artisans who ensure that each work of art meets the exacting standards befitting such an iconic photograph.

A relaxed yet elegant moment from 1959, this photograph, "Pussyfooting", portrays actress Dee Hartford, wife of film producer Howard Hawks, savoring a Pussyfoot—a vibrant blend of Jamaican fruit juices—her poised silhouette framed by the shimmering sea and lush island backdrop. The scene captures the heart of 1950s jet-set glamour, weaving relaxed sophistication with exotic allure, evoking a timeless romance that continues to enchant lovers of coastal charm and refined indulgence. Few landmarks are more emblematic of midcentury glamour than the Beverly Hills Hotel in the 1950s. Captured in 1957, this photograph offers a quintessential view of Hollywood luxury, with vintage cars lined up beneath towering palms and the hotel’s iconic signage gleaming against the California sky. As a favorite retreat for film stars and studio moguls, the Pink Palace on Sunset Boulevard stood as a sanctuary of style, exclusivity, and West Coast sophistication. This image distills the spirit of an era when Beverly Hills was not just a destination but a cultural symbol of elegance and aspiration. Not my favorite piece. The color of the artwork although looks like the photo was a little washed out and didn’t go with my decor selection as much. Yt. Diamond Bar, CA. Fri Oct 10 2025

Bought all three in the series and they look nice hung together. The colors are very pretty. The offset/tension of the hanging wire was different on all three items so beware when you are hanging that all of the holes may need to be at different heights.. Madelyn. Mon May 25 2026
