This is a very beautiful table in person, but the listing misrepresents what it looks like in real life. The color of the oak is much warmer in person, and has more knots in it, which is not ideal. We LOVE this table!!! I also waited and hesitated like several others but finally ordered it. Took a cple weeks to get but well worth the wait. It does have openings in the wood here and there, it is definitely not completely smooth but that’s ok with us. Goes perfect with our boho farmhouse style but would go with any style. This table for my dining nook arrived very well packaged! The top piece came in wood box with styrofoam, bottom piece in sturdy box. I would recommend paying for assembly because the item is extremely heavy. The base and the top are concrete. The spec sheet says the base is metal but it is not. Top and bottom are concrete and match each other perfectly. It is a good statement piece but without being showy. Even though it is chunky it has refined lines and is well made.
