We LOVE this table!!! I also waited and hesitated like several others but finally ordered it. Took a cple weeks to get but well worth the wait. It does have openings in the wood here and there, it is definitely not completely smooth but that’s ok with us. Goes perfect with our boho farmhouse style but would go with any style. This table is so beautiful! I am incredibly happy with it, despite a few complaints. Pros: Incredibly heavy duty, beautiful oak, and very solidly made. It easily seats 8-10 people. Cons: On the legs there are metal plates attached to the top of each leg, that then get attached to the underside of the table. On one leg, the holes were drilled much too large for the plate to stay attached. I ended up filling the holes with epoxy to permanently attach the plate to the leg. Also, the surface of the table has several areas where the oak is sanded smooth, but leaving a splintery finish. This leaves some gaps in the otherwise smooth surface, which trap food.
