This turned out really great! The navy blue is a true navy blue... but not dark, dark midnight blue. Unlike other commenters, I have found the top easy enough to pull out and flip over, though I'd agree some manner of tag or handle would be helpful. It's simple and sturdy, and the top is comfortable, but firm enough to support a coaster and drink. And although I "knew" the dimensions, it presents longer (from end-to-end) and narrower (from front to back) that I'd envisioned. But it works perfectly as part ottoman / part coffee table. Yes, some odor upon opening. I aired for a couple of days with the lid open and some Febreeze. It still has an odor, but not terribly offensive. Expect it to continue fading. Really pleased with my purchase. It’s a very sturdy bench. It’s not really soft upon sitting (but not uncomfortable once you’re seated), but I also don’t anticipate sitting on it often.
