Plush bedding can mean the difference between a sweet dream and a nightmare—but knowing how to create the perfect spread can be daunting. Don’t lose sleep over it! From mattress toppers to sheets, and all the essentials in between, we have your ideal bedding covered. Read on to learn more.

While your mattress may be the foundation of your bed, the mattress topper is the ground floor. Since it provides the comfort and cushion to your restful sleep, it is just as important as the mattress itself. Before you purchase, discover which one is the right topper for your sleep style.

Pillow-Top: Soft, fluffy, and ideal for achieving that sleeping-on-a-cloud feeling, pillow-top mattress toppers are filled with down, goose, and duck feathers.

Memory Foam: Firm yet malleable, memory foam toppers are oh-so-cozy and work to evenly distribute weight across your mattress. Made from a foam blend, they regulate bed temperatures and are hypoallergenic.

Great sheetsare essential for a good night’s rest. While available in a variety of thread counts it is the weave of each fabric that actually has the biggest impact on the touch, feel and comfort of your sheets.

Percale: plain weave that breathes easily, keeps your bed cool, and has a crisp feel. Similar to your favorite button-down shirt, percale almost has a starched-like quality but is still soft to the touch. Often used in fine hotel beds around the world, percale sheets feel fresh even after several sleeps.

Sateen:  smooth weave with a very soft, lustrous feel. Sateen sheets, as their name suggests, feel as though they have been spun with silk, satin-like fibers. While typically warmer than percale, sateen sheets sometimes have a pearlized shine to them and maintain their fabric construction over time.

Linen: textured and woven from flax fibers. Linen sheets are breathable, give off a relaxed look, and will get softer overtime.

Jersey Knit: crafted from flexible modal for a cozy feel. These jersey sheets are reminiscent of your favorite, worn in tee-shirt.

Egyptian Cotton: the best of the best. This fabric is woven from extra-long-staple Egyptian cotton and is prized for its high quality and durability.

You can’t have a dream bed without a cozy comforter. While you might not realize it, there are a few differences to consider before purchasing—read on to find the right one for you.

Down: Made using goose or duck feathers, down comforters are lightweight and breathable, yet still incredibly warm, which makes them ideal for year-round use. While more expensive than down-alternative fill, they will hold up over time and prove themselves to be a worthy investment piece.

Down Alternative: Budget-friendly and easy to clean, down alternative provides the same level of comfort as traditional down. Made from polyester, cotton and/or wool, a down alternative may not have the same longevity, but is machine washable and will keep your bed supremely warm

The final plush touches on your serene bed are the pillows. Whether you're a minimalist or a pillow enthusiast, learn the breakdown of these four basic styles below.

Standard:  This common pillow is available in both down and down alternative and is perhaps the most supportive element on the bed. Traditionally, one standard pillow is used on a twin bed, two on a full or queen, and three on a king.

Queen and King: Layered on top or in front of the standard pillow,  queen and king pillows come in two sizes. A standard queen pillow (seen on full or queen beds) is most common and measures around 20" by 30", while a king pillow (seen on king beds) is sized at 20” by 36”.

European: The largest of shams, this oversized pillow measures at 26” by 26” and is square in shape. It can be placed behind or in front of the standard pillows.

Accent: While an accent pillow can vary in shape (boudoir, bolster, squareor lumbar), it is the smallest pillow on the bed and is usually placed in front. These pillows are a great way to bring in various patterns or prints to your bed.
