Even with a backing, we think placing a rug pad beneath it is a good idea.
I'm quite pleased with this rug. It does effortlessly enhances the aesthetic of my living room while tying cohesively well with my other various decor styles. Crafted from a blend of traditional wool and jute backing, it does offer a soft touch while maintaining durability - holds up pretty well in high traffic area. What I particularly love is the timeless earthy tones. It complements well with any modern decor. While shedding is common with handmade wool rugs, I find that it does lessen over time. Admittedly, there are some initial lint that tended to get on clothes, but regular vacuuming (frequent in the beginning) at a low setting helps alleviate this issue. Overall, I highly recommend..
