The rug is unique and soft, the edges are a bit shiny and the center is more of warm cream color, give it interesting contrast. It's also pretty soft, not incredibly thick, but enough that I'd be able to sit on the rug comfortably. So many rugs now are very thin, and we wanted something that both felt nice to walk on but was thick enough to sit on as well. The one thing to look out for is that the size is not truly 5' x 8', my guess is due to the oval shape the sizing they gave was just an approximation off a standard rectangular rug. This wool rug at this price point is a hell of a deal! It’s soft under your feet, and with a good quality rug pad it stays in place. I vacuumed it like crazy when I first laid it out after reading the other reviews about the excessive shedding… that’s pretty common for a wool shag rug. We will see how it holds up over time, but honestly at this sale price even if it lasts a year I got my moneys worth in my opinion!!! Not worth the money at the listed full price however.. Jason.
