This rug is very thin and more of a woven quilt-like feel. We’re using this in a low traffic area where we typically don’t wear shoes — I’d recommend similar placement and definitely not for a high traffic area. It has a nice feel though, and we’re excited to have our comfy reading chair and bean bag arrive to make this into a reading nook where this rug will work great. TIP Definitely order a slip-free rug pad as it’s slippery on a wood floor without — running kids would definitely lose traction if this were a runner. Additionally, I’d recommend buying some peel and stick Velcro (the hook side) to adhere to the rug pad at the corners of the rug — that’ll help keep it from flipping up at the edges and becoming a trip hazard.
