This is not a thick rug, but it is perfect for the price/design/size. If you want it to feel more plush, you'll need a pad underneath, but I'm using it without. Not very much shedding and seems to clean up very well. Very happy with the purchase.

Beautiful Black and Beige rug. It slips around very easily so I would definitely recommend getting a rug pad to place underneath.
