They put all the leaves in (except the narrow leaf that has the hole for the umbrella, which I will not be using indoors). It is possible to remove a leaf to square up the table as described on the website, but it took more effort than this elderly customer could muster. A visiting friend pulled out the extra leaf and squared it up for me.
