Beautiful umbrella with thick, sturdy vertical pole. Assembly was easy - only a few steps. I used four 18" x 18" x 2.25" gray concrete stepping stones to hold the X base down firmly. These were readily available at a paver stone/stepping stone supply store. The instructions say that the stones can be up to 1.5" thick but, after checking carefully, I found the thicker ones fit just fine, and the extra thickness probably added some weight for even more stability.
