Theses are gorgeous fixtures, we have 2 over half of a 10’ length of island, (the other half has a skylight over it). They provide more than enough light, spaced about 18” apart and suspended about 30” above a 36” high countertop. We have 100 watt equivalent LED lamps inside. The fixtures have a cap that is on the top, essentially covering about 20% of the globe, but the overall effect is a nice glow on the walls and ceiling, exactly what we were hoping for. Its a nice lamp. It was easy to assemble. Came with plenty of cord. I bought a 100w equivalent LED Edison style bulb which looks very nice and retro. Biggest complaint was the cord catch that reduces strain on the wiring was made of plastic. It shredded when trying to unscrew it. We took a long time to decide on a pendant light for our very spacious curved staircase entry. This light was just what we wanted - clean, elegant, adjustable, and high quality. We had it professionally installed, but it didn't seem to take too long and, once it was up, it was easy to play with the length of the wires to get the right configuration (thanks to a very tall ladder). The lights are very sharp looking, the gold separators are elegant, and the wires hang straight down so it is a clean look. It is not a large fixture, so beware if you want something more substantial. In the end, I think this gives us the striking effect we wanted in a pendant light in a unique spot.. Amy.
