I placed this lamp next to a sofa table I use for eating and computer work. I only wish it were just a few inches shorter, as the LEDs will be visible for shorter people. Although the lamp is thin and lightweight, which equates to very little floor space, that minimalism also means it needs to be kept where no one is likely to accidentally bump it out of place.. It’s very tall and I’m still getting used to that, but fortunately the ceiling is quite high in that room. I have the taller of the two lights facing the high wall for the light to bounce off the wall. I was looking for a touch light which this has. And I like the simple design. This is a contemporary floor lamp that is well made and easy to assemble. As a task lamp, it lights a specific area well but does not (and is not meant to) light the whole room. The switch consists of a touch sensitive slider along the stem: slide up and you get light, slide down and you dim or turn off the lamp. It suited our project perfectly.. Diane. Looks just as expected. The light is very one directional. So excellent for reading, but not good for overall room light. They did not send a Allen wrench that is necessary to tighten the brass cover for the switch.
