I absolutely love this fan. I installed it with the 6" down rod on 8 foot ceilings and it looks great. We had some trouble wiring the switch because the junction box wasn't large enough to fit the switch but we got it to work eventually. Fan looks good and is very quiet which is nice but I'm a little concerned... We had electricians install it & they said there's no way to control the light/fan with a switch. You can install a switch, which we did, but it only remembers the last setting you had it on with the remote so it gets all out of sync, and we've been walking into a dark room until we can find the remote. We will probably install the remote holder by the light switch too. The electricians also said that when the fan motor dies, or when the light dies, there's no way to replace those parts, so we will need a whole new fixture.
