I absolutely love this fan. I installed it with the 6" down rod on 8 foot ceilings and it looks great. We had some trouble wiring the switch because the junction box wasn't large enough to fit the switch but we got it to work eventually. LOVE the fan. Super sleek and quiet with nice airflow. I will say the installation was a bit more complicated than expected. The directions are generic for all fans, so you need to make adjustments if you don't have the light fixture option. Also, it was difficult to thread the wires and the pin through the down rod. Fan looks good and is very quiet which is nice but I'm a little concerned... We had electricians install it & they said there's no way to control the light/fan with a switch. You can install a switch, which we did, but it only remembers the last setting you had it on with the remote so it gets all out of sync, and we've been walking into a dark room until we can find the remote. We will probably install the remote holder by the light switch too. The electricians also said that when the fan motor dies, or when the light dies, there's no way to replace those parts, so we will need a whole new fixture. Its a very nice fan. A little noisy when its on high but I suppose its due to the the metal cutting through the air. The con is that Minka-Aire is not a straight forward universal ceiling fan with light type of product. It is difficult to find the coordinating pieces. Not all lighting kits work and not all Minka-Aire lighting kits work. Not all remote controls or wall mounted controls work nor Minka-Aire products. Has to be specific to the fan. It turned out to be quite a chore, not to mention expense, to get it just right. I like the fan, just not the trouble. I think this will be my last Minka-Aire purchase. . alfredo. The fan is fantastic, and works great with google assistant. The breeze option for fan speed is really nice too. Some people have complained about the app, but I've had no issues with it. That said, after the first few days I stopped using it because it works so easily with voice command through google assistant! Construction is very nice, and very sturdy with real wood blades.
