I absolutely love this fan. I installed it with the 6" down rod on 8 foot ceilings and it looks great. We had some trouble wiring the switch because the junction box wasn't large enough to fit the switch but we got it to work eventually. Excellent for my 20+ ft ceiling of the living and sitting great room. Sleek look but super light as it’s plastic. Electrician had no problems for a quick install. Did come with 6” down rod so I had to purchase the 12 and 18 elsewhere to find the right fit, not much of an addl cost and easy to find in 1” diameter, swapped them out myself. LOVE the fan. Super sleek and quiet with nice airflow. I will say the installation was a bit more complicated than expected. The directions are generic for all fans, so you need to make adjustments if you don't have the light fixture option. Also, it was difficult to thread the wires and the pin through the down rod. Its a very nice fan. A little noisy when its on high but I suppose its due to the the metal cutting through the air. The con is that Minka-Aire is not a straight forward universal ceiling fan with light type of product. It is difficult to find the coordinating pieces. Not all lighting kits work and not all Minka-Aire lighting kits work. Not all remote controls or wall mounted controls work nor Minka-Aire products. Has to be specific to the fan. It turned out to be quite a chore, not to mention expense, to get it just right. I like the fan, just not the trouble. I think this will be my last Minka-Aire purchase. . alfredo.
