They look great with a modern design. We installed them over the peninsula in the kitchen and had to spray paint the inside of the cone white as others did because the gold did not work with our design. It was a struggle to get the cord to stay even somewhat straight. They are a stamp piece of metal making them very light and feel a bit cheap, but no one is touching them so they work great for us!.
