No, it won't answer to the adorable pet name you give it or have witty replies to your inane requests (don't worry, you have job security) but it will fill your room with functional light and deliver it via a thoughtfully proportioned design. Sure, it might be just a way to cancel out small parcels of darkness, but maybe, just maybe it could be a friend too. Because doing stuff in the dark can be hard.
