They look great with a modern design. We installed them over the peninsula in the kitchen and had to spray paint the inside of the cone white as others did because the gold did not work with our design. It was a struggle to get the cord to stay even somewhat straight. They are a stamp piece of metal making them very light and feel a bit cheap, but no one is touching them so they work great for us!. Its modern simplicity was perfect for my small dining area. I like too the dome is perforated so the light twinkles through when on. Love it! ***later thoughts…the color on interior is much more gold than illustrated on website, and the perforations or holes around the side, the design are not in alignment…a bit sloppy.
